Dulux’s new Design Effects Collection is the perfect way to accessorise the hottest trends, whether you’re looking to add the rugged texture of concrete to an industrial space or a pop of metallics to a Scandi scheme. The Dulux Design Collective had great fun experimenting with the range, and show just how quick and easy it is to create those perfect finishing touches for your home.

Decorating with luxurious texture, shimmering metallics and unique paint effects is the easiest way to make a design statement. Dulux has enlisted design experts – Steve Cordony, Nicole Rosenberg of Little Liberty, Alana Langan and Jacqui Vidal of Ivy Muse Botanical Wares Studio, Crystal Bailey and Mitchel Lindsay of The Design Twins, and Bree Leech and Heather Nette King – to help inspire homeowners to get creative and inject personality into their DIY projects using the new Dulux Design Effects range of paints.

Interior decorator Nicole Rosenberg knows a thing or two about creating spaces kids love, having run children’s design firm Little Liberty for 10 years.

Here, she transformed a little girl’s room into a more grown-up space by creating an eye-catching mural wall with Dulux Gold Effect in Gold Vintage and four co-ordinating Dulux colours. “Gold is perfect for adding a touch of glamour,” she says. “The key is to use small doses and balance it out with soft colours and simple furnishings.”

Interior Stylist, Steve Cordony used Dulux Concrete Effect to create a graphic wall strip. Steve says, “The beauty of this finish is that you can make it as soft or as richly textured as you like. With no experience and just a few coats of paint, you can create the look of a beautifully textured concrete wall.”

Alana Langan and Jacqui Vidal of Ivy Muse Botanical Wares Studio are firm believers that you don’t have to spend a fortune to create sophisticated and unique pieces.
“For this project we had great fun scouring our local op shop for cheap second-hand pots, which we transformed with Dulux Metal Shimmer Effect,” says Vidal.
“We love the subtle, refined colours – they have a gentle shimmer that’s best appreciated up close,” says Langan.

Design Twins gave a simple hallway arrangement a dramatic lift by adding fibre-clay pots painted in alternating layers of Dulux Copper and Copper Patina Effects.

Comprising Dulux Copper, Copper Patina, Metal Shimmer, Stainless Steel, Gold, and Concrete Effects, these additions to the Dulux Design Effects range are perfect for adding interest to feature walls, updating furniture or even transforming home accessories.
