I was recently asked by Child magazine to contribute some ideas on creating a whimsical garden ( see above).
I was happy to write this editorial as Melbourne Child magazine ran with it quite a touching story about Karie Hall’s beautiful, whimsical garden that she has created to distract her from her breast cancer diagnosis.
Melbourne Child magazine told the story of a lovely, loving family who have a very special garden. Karie and Matthew Hall share their home in Scottsdale Northern Tasmania with their three children and pet dog. Now the reason that this garden is so special is because it provides a distraction from Karie’s breast cancer and on going confronting treatment she has had to endure.
The garden is filled with whimsical, vintage treasures and things that Karie has created. These provide a beautiful space for the whole family to escape to. Here are some pictures, courtesy of Melbourne Child Magazine.
The outdoor table looks at home in the garden with glass bottles filled with flowers and treasures from the garden.
How cute is this vintage caravan? I bet the kids love playing in this.
You can read my article and the full story in Child magazine April 2014 edition which is out now. Images courtesy of Child magazine, all other images my own.
