There are many reasons why it can be challenging to sleep at night. But over 33% of us in Australia are having poor quality sleep. But there are some things you can do in your bedroom to ensure you sleep like a log. In fact, here are some simple style changes to make in your bedroom to ensure you don’t have interrupted sleep.

Time to change your bedding

It’s always good to change the bedding in your sleeping quarters. For one thing, it keeps the room fresh when you keep changing to a different design. And if you regularly change the sheets, it’s also good to ensure the room stays looking beautiful. However, there’s also benefits to your sleep if you change the bedding. For example, going for a lighter duvet cover can actually help you to sleep better. After all, when it’s warm at night, the last thing you want is a heavy duvet. Also, you should go for light sheets which will keep you cosy in bed. Make sure they are not too thick to ensure you stay cool during the night, and you will definitely sleep better!

Update your curtains

As much as there are benefits to lighter mornings, it can interrupt your sleep. After all, the light in your bedroom in the early morning can wake your body up as it thinks it’s morning. And then you might struggle to get back to sleep at four or five am! However, you can stop the light getting in your bedroom by updating your curtains. After all, if you go for blackout options when hunting down curtains and blinds, it will stop any light getting in your room. In fact, any time you fancy a snooze, you won’t have to worry with these in your home! And just because they are blackout, it doesn’t mean you have to go for a dark colour. There are a tonne of options which will help you to get some proper sleep without being awoken by the light.

Make the room airer

It’s hard to sleep when the room gets too warm at night. And it means you are likely to toss and turn rather than having a deep slumber. However, you don’t have to suffer with a hot room. You should change it so that it’s airier at night. One way you can do this is via investing in a ceiling fan. You can turn this on if the room gets too warm at night to bring you some much-needed relief. And these can actually make an attractive feature that will look smashing in your home. You also might want to leave the windows open to get some air into your home. Just make sure you get an insect screen, so no bugs can start causing you another problem at night! After all, you are bound to wake up if you are getting bitten.

And if you still have sleepless nights, it’s a good idea to look at your routine. After all, it might be the case that you are eating or drinking too close to bedtime. Or you might have too many things in the bedroom causing distractions!
