I’ve got a few projects on the go at the moment. All of them are to do with my home. I’m constantly changing things, moving things or updating things around my home and so today I thought I’d share a few of the projects at my place that are happening.
I rarely take photos of my dining room as I really dislike my chairs. The table is a great size and seats 8 comfortably but the chairs I feel have dated terribly. I am in the process of changing the chairs and I can’t wait to share what they look like.

I adore these Bentwood Thonet chairs in black. I love everything about this relaxed dining space. I have taken inspiration from this picture.
We have also decided to update the doors in our home. I chose new gold handles and a smooth skin door. Turns out that these doors don’t actually suit our home. The house is weatherboard and the original part was built in 1950. I think I will stick to the colonial four panel doors as this suits the house.

I think these doors suit the style of our home. With ornate cornice, architraves and skirting, these doors will suit perfectly.
In my lounge room I have a corner TV cabinet, it is in dire need of an update and hopefully soon I will get the chance to give it a lick of paint.

I am thinking about using chalk paint and painting it black like this piece above.
I have also ordered sheers for across the back wall of my family room. This room looks out to the pool so I rarely use the white block out blinds. I have ordered chocolate sheers so there is still a view to the outside but just to take some glare out of the room on really hot days.

Here is what I purchased. The curtains will sit flush with the ceiling. I cannot wait to share it with you when they are hung.

Definitely go ahead with painting the TV cabinet black. I just purchased a refurbished bookcase that was painted black and I was worried it would be too bold a move but I love it. Your home is beautiful.
Thanks Veronica. I will definitely paint the cabinet black, thanks for your encouragement. i can’t wait to get that project started.

I love the idea of sheers, I would love a home with floor to ceiling ones. I have a timber dining setting that I would love to makeover, I like the solid timber table but the chairs are too ‘matchy matchy’. So thats my next project!! We have just finished a full house reno, so no plans on the agenda at the moment…phew!! 🙂
Thanks so much Ashlea, your home sounds lovely too. I cannot wait to get the sheers and share pics with everyone.

Thanks so much Isobel. I hope you get to update your dining chairs soon, I guess fashions change and we end up hating what we once loved. x
