There are so many beautiful ideas for Advent Calendars floating around the internet. Last year I made an Advent calendar and even won a Kikki K Co Stylist competition, you can read about that here, but this year I decided to keep it simple. The kids got chocolate advent calendars from the shops ( I know!) and I made a sugar free version. So here is my DIY Advent calendar.
I simply grabbed some branches of olive tree from my front yard. I tried to get a pine tree branch but could not find any.
I cut some squares from cardboard I had in my craft box and stamped each card 1 through to 24. I pegged these on the branches.
You could hang it on the wall and string some fairy lights from it.
It was so easy to make. I had all the materials at home and the fairy lights I had bought from Typo, they are battery operated.
Choose a colour theme to tie in with your Christmas tree decorations and voila! Done.
Have you made an advent calendar this year? I’d love see it.
