Your bathroom is a room in the home that gets used the most often, and if left, even for a small amount of time, it can become a space that is unhygienic and won’t be fit for purpose to get the family clean. There can be a range of hazards from hair blocking drains, to getting mould on tiles and limescale building up on showers and other surfaces. How can you make sure that your bathroom is clean and stays clean for as long as possible? Here are some of the things that you can do to keep the bathroom clean and make sure that the bathroom is kept in order.

Wipe surfaces regularly

Bathroom surfaces are hard surfaces, and as a result, can be a breeding ground for germs and dirt. The surfaces can get covered in soap, hair, toothpaste, dirty handprints, watermarks, and other dirt, which is why they need to be wiped down on a regular basis. Using an antibacterial surface spray can kill germs, as well as white vinegar and some essential oils. By doing this daily, or at least every other day, it can stop the dirt and germs building up, which helps to keep the bathroom clean.

Consider a hard water filter

If you live in a hard water area, then you will know just how much of a nuisance the hard water can be, as it can lead to more limescale than living in a soft water area. When you have softer water, it will mean limescale isn’t as apparent which will help to keep your bathroom cleaner for longer. Look out for some great water filters, like a hard water filter, and it can help to reduce that pesky limescale in your bathroom.

Rinse the toilet daily

Cleaning the toilet bowl is one of the jobs that most people want to avoid. But there is a quick trick that can help to keep your toilet clean, meaning that it doesn’t need one big deep clean each week, but rather, a quick clean each day. It gets used daily, right? So it won’t take very long to give it a quick rinse. This could be just putting some bleach or other toilet cleaner down the toilet after use, once a day, and letting it sit there until it next gets flushed. This can be powerful and leaves the toilet smelling fresh and looking sparkling clean.

Special trick to clean showerhead

The showerhead isn’t part of the bathroom that many people will touch, but with all of the water that goes through it, it will need to be cleaned from time to time. The main thing to clean away is limescale, and using an old toothbrush and some limescale descaler, it can look sparkling clean. You could also make a cleaning mixture of water and vinegar, made up of half and half, placed in a bag and put over the showerhead to soak for a couple of hours. Something that is simple but effective.
