Is there such a thing as making your home happy?  Or is it the simple things we do that make us happy when we are at home?

Either way, it makes sense to do the things that make us all happy, don’t you think?

Such simple steps and simple ways can actually lead to making you happier?  Well I don’t know about you but I am going to give them a try and I already do these things now.

Make Your Bed

I won’t leave the house until the bed is made.  My kids also make their own beds so when I get home there isn’t a messy bed starring at me.

Add Some Nature or Greenery

Foraged or bought by adding a bit of greenery to your house it can be like bringing in the fresh air.  The added bonus is you have a natural deodoriser too.

Add Colour

One of my favourite things to do at home is to bring in a bit of colour.  It doesn’t have to be over the top but just a little bit of colour can make you feel so happy.

Rearrange Your Furniture

Sometimes when I am sick of the arrangements at home I rearrange the furniture.  It’s amazing how this can actually feel like you have a new house.  Just move a few things and you can create a whole new look and feel to your home and it won’t cost a thing.

Hang Artwork

Hang arwork, quotes or pictures that make you feel happy.  Each time you pass it will bring a smile to your face.

Let Natural Light In

Nothing beats a good dose of sunshine so open up the curtains and blinds and let all that natural light flood your house.  It sure does make you feel better.

Tidy Up Each Night

A habit I got myself into years ago.  I do a general tidy up and also clear the kitchen before I go to bed.  That way in the morning I am not overwhelmed by mess and all the cleaning up I should have done.

Create Vignettes of Your Favorite Things

I love nothing more than to create little vignettes around my house.  In the bathroom, in the kitchen, in the living room.  Any where in your home where you will see the things you love.  That way they will make you feel happy.

Do you follow any of these tips?  I’d love to know if you have any tips you could share with me that I could try?
