I was lucky enough to attend the Paint Place Real Living workshop the other day.

It was a great morning with a small gathering of ladies who also wanted to be inspired and learn how to incorporate the latest colour trends into their homes.

The morning was held at Paint Place with a lovely morning tea.

We were firstly welcomed by Sarah Ellison the stylist for Real Living magazine. Sarah showed us a series of photos from various photo shoots she had styled and discussed how she put these together.  There were several themes with lots of examples of colour combinations. This broadened our knowledge of colour a lot. Sarah also talked about how she styled the front cover of the Real Living magazine (shown above).  Sarah was very insightful and it was lovely of her to share her knowledge of colour with us.

We were then introduced to Deb Mclean.  Deb is one of Australia’s leading stylists who represents one half of the creative team, Doswell and McLean.  Deb has worked on a number of high profile brands and worked with Paint Place to produce their latest trend forecasts.  The picture above is a one of the shots that Deb created.

Deb talked us through all the shots she created for Paint Place (another example above).  It was interesting to learn how a series of picture cards comes together and what tricks she used to achieve this.  Deb told us about cost effective ways to bring colour into our home and shared various colour schemes that work together.  I love the blues in the picture above.

Deb explained that just by paining a vase or creating some cheap artwork on the internet you can introduce your favourite trend colour without breaking the bank.

We then had fun painting our own trend colour memory box.  I chose coral pink and grey for my theme.  Here is a picture of my memory box.

These are some of the trend colour cards that you can pick up from Paint Place.

We also got to take home a lovely goodies bag.  Inside were lots of goodies like a paint roller, Real living magazine and paint place trend cards.

I had a lovely afternoon and highly recommend if you get the chance to go along to a Real Living Paint Place workshop.
