I was extremely lucky enough to receive an invitation to the opening night of West Elm Melbourne. I was just a little bit excited.
West Elm is opening to the public on Thursday 19th September at 464 Chapel Street South Yarra. You can also shop online here.
Originating from Brooklyn, New York, West Elm like to collaborate with independent designers and craft communities that also have a positive impact on the environment. Their mission is “authentic, approachable, affordable pieces” to use in your home to tell your story.
Let me tell you, I was amazed by it all and fell in love with everything in the store.
The amazing Megan Morton officially opened the store with a few kind words and a party popper.
Lots of cushion displays all colour co ordinated to entice you.
I loved the shiny silver colour of this desk and with such a cute vignette.
This was the blue display wall. It catches your eye as you enter the store.
Upstairs housed bedlinen, manchester and outdoor furniture. I especially like the red with the orange (Erica this is for you xo).
How would you like this in your outdoor room? This is a section of their outdoor furniture display. I love the blue mosaic table.
This is me next to a giant cheese board which is only $89.00. One thing I noticed was how reasonably priced everything was.
This is another outdoor mosaic table for $458.00. Lovely for a courtyard to have afternoon tea on. Everything you see in the store is for sale, including all the displays. The mugs, bowls and plates were all good quality and had nice patterns.
Here is my hubby Bren, just taking it all in.
He was even impressed at how affordable and on trend it all was. After all he knows he’ll be driving the ute back to Chapel Street when I make my purchases (he he).
Are you going to visit West Elm?
I’d love to know what you buy?
I’m off to West Elm, it all looks fantasti!
You won’t be disappointed Janet.
Let me know what you buy?

Hi Yvette!
Thank you for the lovely recap, it looks like it was a blast from your photos! I hope you enjoyed an up-close & personal encounter with the green wall. It’s GSky’s first installation in Australia, so it’s quite exciting!(http://gsky.com/projects/west-elm-melbourne-green-wall/ ) Maybe it’ll spark some green inspiration
Hi there,
