Over the Summer holidays we finished off painting our weatherboard house. I loved the neutral tones and my neutral front door but had always been keen on painting the front door black.
So that is exactly what we did, painted it black. The paint I chose was black Interior/Exterior quick dry enamel by Viponds Paints. Not your average brand but this came highly recommended from Paint Place. It painted on smoothly and it did dry very quickly. Two coats was all it needed and after a few hours we were able to close the door.
This is finished product. I love the look and it has completely transformed the whole front of our house. Even our cat (Lava) enjoyed the new spot.
I love the high shine look.
Here are some other black front doors I’ve been swooning over.

Have new completed any projects at your place lately?
Ooh – love it Yvette. Coloured doors are fabulous – it really defines your door’s features beautifully too. I have a red door, do love it. Xx
Wow a red door, that sounds so fabulous and inviting!

It looks awesome hun. I have a black door that I was thinking of painting a different colour – now I think I will just give it a bit of a spruce up with some new paint. xx
Black looks so great I think, it won’t date and looks really classy. Stay with the black!

Oh I love it, looks very stylish but ultra homey too.
Thankyou so much, we have had such lovely comments.

I’m in neutral colour choice hell at the moment. Can’t seem to get the balance between warmish and too pink. I love your front door, but I’d love to know what colours you chose for your weatherboards and trim.
Hi Lara
The weatherboard colour is Dulux Tapestry Beige and the trims are Dulux New York (an old colour but they can still mix it for you). It’s always best to get a few sample pots too and good luck.
