My little boy Archer, (well not so little anymore, he is 7 years old and in Grade one) wanted a study nook for his bedroom. He doesn’t really get homework but likes to be like his older brother and sister who spend hours each night doing theirs.
I’ve teamed up with Target this month to show you how affordable and easy it is to create a home office or study nook. There were so many stylish and on trend pieces to choose from. Archer was so excited when I showed him what I’d created. He sits in his bedroom now, lamp on, and writes notes to his friends. So so cute. I told him to ‘never grow up’! It won’t be long before he will be doing actual homework. I can only hope the enthusiasm keeps up.
I wanted to get a desk that was small enough so it didn’t overcrowd his bedroom. The Studio Metal Desk was only $29.00 and at 76cm it was perfect for him.
I added some cute accessories. He loves his pencils and I also added a cute cactus but I told him not to touch it. The cactus I made myself.
I also added a new fiddle fig that I got at Masters for $29.95 and put it in this basket, I added a funky kids cushion and a positive happy print.
I am so happy with the way it looks. I found the round jute rug for only $25.00. It defines this space perfectly.
I also added a small stool for $10.00 and the Adele desk lamp in gold for only $39.00. All these are available at Target.

Does your home office need an update?
By changing a few items listed above you could change the look from a kids study nook to a home office for yourself.
I was gifted $150 from Target for this post.
